Daniel Bonzi - Mountain Guide. Originally from the French Alps, he immigrated to Canada in the late 70’s to pursue his passion for the mountains in the great Canadian wilderness. As a professional mountain guide, he has been leading guests on climbing, hiking, trekking, ski-touring and heli-skiing trips for over 30 years. Besides the mountains of Western Canada and the European Alps, his professional and personal mountain adventures have also taken him to the Yukon Territory, Alaska, Nepal and Georgia in the Great Caucasus. He is a fully qualified guide, member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) and internationally certified through the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA / UIAGM). He is also a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association. In addition to his guiding career, he was involved for many years with the Canadian Mountain Guide Training & Certification Program, teaching and examining aspirant guides.

Daniel is dedicated to the profession of mountain guiding and keeps on finding new challenges. As Heliksir’s Lead Guide, he enjoys being part of a tight-knit Georgian team where he found great friends and committed professionals. He and his fellow guides take great pride in providing Heliksir’s guests with the most rewarding, safest heli-skiing experience possible.

Mountain Guide

Archil Tsintsadze - UIAGM / IVBV-certified Mountain Guide at HELIKSIR since 2011. Archil holds a diploma of an Engineer Hydrologist from the Tbilisi State University's Department of Geography and Geology. After graduating in 1996, Archil changed his career to become a mountain guide. His work experience in the field is impressive: in addition to working at HELIKSIR, he is the director of the Alpine Club at the Ilia State University and academic director of the Georgian Mountain Guide Program. Since 2004, he has been working as a mountain guide at the DAV Summit Club, Munich, Germany - presenting the teaching courses provided by the school (rock and ice climbing, summer and winter alpinism, trekking, rescue and avalanche safety courses), leading trekking and expeditions outside Europe (Himalayas and the Caucasus). His previous experience includes working as a mountain guide and an instructor for private companies in Germany and Georgia, the Georgian Republican Rescue Center Santeli as well as holding administrative positions at the Mountain Guide Association of Georgia. Archil is a member of the Mountain Guide Association of Georgia and of the International/German Mountain Guide Association (VDBS/UIAGM).

His extensive training includes:

  • Training from the EMS Traning Center (1996);
  • The Georgian State Mountain Guide School - the course was delivered in accordance to the program of the Mountain Guide Association of Switzerland by the Swiss experts; the title of Mountain Guide (1996-1998);
  • “Santeli”, the Republic Rescue Centre - qualification meeting of rescue instructors, title of a Rescue Instructor (1997);
  • The course of German Mountain Guide Association, the Certificate of Technical University Munich: the title of state certified Mountain and Ski Guide; the title of UIAGM / IVBV (2004-2006);
  • “Lifesaver” – First Aid Course, National Red Cross Society of Germany, Freiburg, Germany (2011).

Gia Apakidze - mountain guide and ski instructor who is well known in many countries as an experienced guide of mountain-climbing groups to Kazbek (5,047 m), Ushba (4,710 m) and other peaks in Svaneti and Kazbegi regions. Gia holds a mountain guide certificate from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (Switzerland) and the Georgian State School of Mountain Guides. A Master of Sports in mountain climbing, he became the youngest mountain climber in the USSR at the age of 14.


Levan Ananiashvili

Levan Ananiashvili

Levan Ananiashvili was the CEO of HELIKSIR from the day the company was found. Unfortunately, Levan is no longer with us and we all deeply feel this loss. Levan, who had a PhD in geology, was an ardent fan of alpine skiing and mountain tourism. He was a great leader for HELIKSIR who managed to find common language with everyone, so many of our guests often became his close friends.

We greatly appreciate everything he contributed to the company and we also care deeply about his family, friends and business partners.

We miss Levan, his sense of humor, his optimistic plans for the future, his great many ideas, and we will make every effort to make his dreams come true.

Ana Ananiashvili - Tourist Relations Coordinator at HELIKSIR, a Tourism Department graduate, whose profession is directly related to strategic management in tourism. An enormous sense of responsibility and interest towards her job inspire her making sure that her career is a success. As HELIKSIR's Tourist Relations Coordinator, Ana’s duty is to communicate with the guests providing them with all the required information in a timely manner thus ensuring that the visitors leave with unforgettable memories about the great slopes of Gudauri.

Tamar Mdivnishvili – Tourist Relations Coordinator at HELIKSIR, a professional journalist who works for the HELIKSIR company as a Tourist Relations Coordinator. Her main responsibility is to put guests on the right track by giving them all the necessary information. Great communication skills and perfect guest relations knowledge shapes Tamar’s work with every customer so that the experience of heli-skiing in the Caucasus Mountains is unforgettable for each one of them.


Zakhariy Dudauri

Project's founder and source of inspiration

Born in Georgia and trained as a geologist, Zakhariy has always dreamed of enabling everybody to enjoy the boundless snowy expanses of the Caucasus.

The idea of buildingin Gudauri a helicopter mountain ski base for heliboardingand heliski came to him when he was in the French Alps visiting his friends – top-notch professional skiers.

Fascinated by the idea, he made every effort and applied his organisational skills to implement it at the highest possible level and to become part of this entrancing adventure.

He has got a helicopter private pilot licence.
